| LowE Glass |
Almost 3/4 of total heat loss in a standard window occurs because the warm inner pane of a double glazed window readily emits heat to the cooler outside pane.
LowE glass disrupts that transfer of heat loss and improves the insulating value in the winter by approximately 50 %. LowE glass also reduces solar heat gain in the summer by the same amount, approximately 50 % over standard clear glass. These energy savings will contribute significantly at reducing energy costs. |

LowE glass also filters out nearly twice as much of the damaging UV radiation than clear glass, helping to prevent fading to draperies, flooring and furnishings.

| Argon Gas |
The air is removed from between the panes of glass in a sealed unit and replaced with Argon Gas which is a clear, odorless inert gas that reduces conduction heat loss, and has a lower conductivity than air which also reduces heat transfer by approximately 30%, thus improving the U-Value and energy efficiency of the sealed unit. Argon Gas also reduces convection losses because it is heavier than air and it will suppress gas movement between the panes of glass, again resulting in higher energy efficiency.

| Thermal Edge Spacer |
A spacer is the band that separates the panes of glass of a sealed unit. Thermal Edge is a "warm edge spacer" that features a steel core with a polymer bridge that enhances thermal performance. The steel is less conductive than aluminum which in the construction of Thermal Edge creates a vapor barrier and offers increased structural integrity. The glass edge touches the polymer bridge thus creating a "warm edge" that reduces condensation and raises the temperature of the edge of the glass.
Thermal Edge is UV resistant and intensifies the overall insulation values when used with LowE Glass resulting in true value in energy efficiency.

| Triple Glazing |
Triple glazing utilizes three panes of glass with two cavities separating them, this offers a tremendous rise in energy efficiency by reducing thermal transfer and condensation. Triple glazing will out perform conventional double glazed units by 50%.

| Tempered Glass |
Tempered glass is approximately 10X stronger against impact than conventional glass. If broken, tempered glass will shatter into very small fragments reducing the chance of personal injury dramatically. For any reason if the location of a window is a safety factor tempered glass may be the solution needed for peace of mind.

| Frosted Glass |
Frosted (obscure) glass offers privacy for bathrooms or basements while allowing sunlight in.

| Tinted Glass |
Tinted glass in bronze or grey will help to prevent glare and reflect some heat while still allowing the sunlight in. Tinted glass is used mainly for cosmetic reasons and not efficiency levels.

Vinylguard offers various types of brickmould for brick or siding exteriors. Vinylguard's brickmould is well suited for new construction applications with nailing fins or completely adaptable for replacement window installations.

Interior jambs are available in wood, vinylclad wood, and vinyl extensions. Vinylguard offers wood jambs in clear poplar, pine, oak and mahogany and mills the wood to suit virtually any size including ICF wall applications.
